Life as We Know It.. keeps us on our toes!

Well! Blogging is obviously not a high priority. I really should get better at this. Since May, my whole summer has pretty much come and gone. However, I have been productive with my free time on many different levels. Since I graduated I have: read 2 books by John Grisham and working on another for school, taken and completed college algebra in 17 days (never again), spent almost a week with family in Kentucky, and now I am trying to catch up on rest from Camp Sunshine!

The most important part about my summer break is my spiritual life. Through all of the studying, leisuring, and getting my groove on with campers at Camp Sunshine, I have strengthened my walk with God.

I concluded my last post with a brief description of the 10-day fast I was on. Well, here's an even more brief description- AMAZING. For 10 days straight, I did not go on facebook and update my life. I did not listen to any other station on XM except "The Message." I did not text much. I do not watch television except for "Reba" so I did not really have to stray away. You are probably wondering what I did with all my spare time. I talked to God more than ever. I started to listen to Larry LeBlanc's Sunday messages on the internet.

God made me realize through the fast that IT IS NOT ABOUT ME, IT IS ABOUT HIM. My life was so consumed with things that ,in the long run, would never make me happy or bring me closer to Jesus. I am not saying that I was a bad kid running the streets or anything; I was just distracted, if you will. Since the fast, I have spent more time in prayer at any time of the day instead of a short 3 minute half-asleep prayer at night. Every Sunday night, I listen to a message in the internet and study and take notes. I have learned that I have needed to, exactly like the saying goes, let go and let God. I have truly seen him work in various ways, and it is beyond amazing.

There should be a blog coming up later this week about college stuff. So until then, food for thought:

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10
